Pirate Tilda three years later

Good morning LLC friends and followers!

Welcome, today I'm (Louise)  your proud host. Boy have we had loads of fun this week! As you all know by now Sandy challenged us to show you all some of our first works and then bring them to life again as we would do them now. Let me tell you, when she first wrote about it I was a wee bit scared. Since I started out in 2009 I've exchanged computers a couple of times and I'm so not the best at saving my photos. Well, obviously I save the ones with the kids ;) but otherwise not so much. I was very relieved when I saw this one with pirate Tilda. I created it in 2010 for my best friends daughter Ebba as she turned three. It my very first make using di´s as a medium and even I can see the difference between the two ;) This is the only photo Ive saved since then so lucky me! ;)

I have been eagerly stalking my postie this week because I knew my Vintage Spring Maja Design paper pad was on its way from the Live and Love Crafts store. And I was ecstatic to receive them prior to the Easter holidays - that way I can enjoy them extra much! ;) lol! So no surprise I used dp´s from the pad. And let me tell you I utterly LOVE them! - ALL! I'm so going to use every last one :)

Of course I used the same Magnolia image and can you see the LOVELY splashes and bits around her?? I ordered myself some Frantage embossing powder in shabby white to see what all the fuss was about and let me tell you! I'm sooooo using that again! I know Sandy has ordered some more colors too and I'm going to buy them all. Don't miss out, I have a feeling the will sell pretty fast!

For those of you that I'm lucky enough to have as followers you all know that I always add the Picket fence di crackle paint. As I browsed the LLC shop the other day I noticed Sandy stocks it in Tattered rose too so of course I had to try it...and no surprise there either - I LOVE IT! ;) For more info about what I've added to this card check the end of my posting where I have a gallery via Inlinkz. That way its very easy for you to simply click the picture and it will take you right to the very product in the LLC store.

Now, before I head off I want to remind you to look at the amazing creations made by my teamies throughout the week. They all create the most stunning things and I have had loads of fun looking at how their own personal styles has evolved throughout the years. Speaking of fun; tomorrow, it's April's Fool's Day, but I'm not fooling you; a brand new challenge is coming up. See you then!

Thanks for checking in with me today!
Lots of love

Half a Decade Later

Hey Everyone and Happy Easter!
It’s Sandy here; I hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s theme, when the DT members have been showing you cards they made several years old and their “retakes” of those.  Personally I think it’s been really fun; it’s amazing to see the differences in styles and materials used.  Like I wrote earlier this week; there’s definitely many more gorgeous products around these days, but that’s not all, it also of course comes down to how you work the materials into your card, and there I’m blown away by the DT member’s progress.

I know for sure that this has been a real challenge; it’s slightly embarrassing to show projects made years ago, even though one at that point of time might have been happy with the outcome. To show those cards again now takes courage, so I’d like to thank all the LLC DT Members for sharing your old cards with us even though you were cringing and most all wanted to go hiding under a stone.  :-)

…and that’s exactly what I’d like to do now, LOL.
Ok, deep breath….
...here it is, my five year old card:
Good Grief!!! What’s up with that colour combo? Someone please tell me what I was thinking? LOL
Hmmm... maybe it's the consequence of being a child of the 70's; after all I grew up with orange kitchen cabinets and snot green wallpapers :-)

Thankfully things have change ever since…along came Maja and Pion Design, stunning dies & punches, cheese cloth, doilies, 3 dimensional flowers, charms, trinkets and so many more gorgeous embellishments!!!

I started blogging in January 2010 and this card was made in 2008, but by the look of it I must have followed a sketch that I found somewhere in blog land, so I thought it’d be fun to use the same sketch again.
So here's my retake:

Of course, I had to use papers from Maja Design's new Vintage Spring Basics collection.
They're all so pretty, the colours are just gorgeous. Here I've used some of the pink and blue sheets.

The image is called "Peek a Bunny" and when I bought it it was a Sugar Nellie stamp, but now I think you can buy her as a digi from Elisabeth Bell's digital collection.
As far as the coluring goes…back then I was using distress, I never really got the hang of it (maybe if You Tube would have been around, things might have been different), so I moved on to Copics. I’m still nowhere near the level I’d like to be at, but I keep on practising.

Puhhhhh; am I happy this ordeal is now over and I get to enjoy Easter... :-)
I hope you'll too, and just in case you haven't seen it already there's 10% off at the store this whole Easter weekend. Offer expires on Monday at midnight.

Hugz, Sandy xx

Now and Then a`la Karita

Happy Easter dear LLC Friends and Followers!
It´s Karita here and today it's my turn to show you my re-created card...yaiks!!! ;)

Actually this was fun to make :) The only problem was that I have given almost all my old stamps away.. But luckily I still have a few older Sarah Kay stamps, which I love dearly and don´t want to ever give away :)

So, are you ready.... ;)
Let´s go back to the year 2008...
So here´s my old card from August 2008.
This is my first Sarah Kay stamp, so it has a special place in my heart :)
The image was coloured with oil pastels and chalks.
As you can see I´ve always loved to use flowers, only they were a little different back then...
And yes, there´s also some lace ;)
And here´s my new card made following the same sketch.
The beautiful paper is from Maja Design.
And here's the cute little girl with her puppy :)
Only this time she was coloured with Distress Ink refillers. I also added some texture paste on the edges.
A few embellishments ;)
And a secret note inside the glass bottle ;)

Thank you so much for stopping by :)
Please come back tomorrow to see what Sandy has re - created :)

Hugs, Karita

2008 VS 2013

Hello everyone! Elin here.
Glad to be back after my vacation, and oh my what a challenge we have got this week!
But I have to admit that this was rather fun!
I still have one of my first cards laying around, and it might come as a shock to you that back then when I started scrapping I was all about CAS (clean &simple)...
What, What, WHAT? :-)
That's not even remotely possible these days, with all the goodies Sandra has to offer in her store.

And as if that wasn't enough, I only made 15 x 15 cm, or 6 x 6 inch cards the first year.
I never do those anymore, but for today I've done the same size as back then.
AND to top it all, my first cards didn't have any images or sentiments.
Well, I had to put a sentiment on the new one, or I'd freak out...haha XD

Oh well...time to show you my old card and then go hiding under a table. :-)
Here is my old card from 2008:
...and here comes 2013:

As you might notice, my taste of colours has changed a bit over the years.. What's up with all the red??
The past year I've been all about pinks, purples, brown and whites as you can see here:
Oh how I absolutly LOVE these bark hearts, they make my day for sure. The sentiment reads:
"Especially for you" and makes the card suitable for any occasion really.
The lovely butterfly is from Pion Design's last colletion: Almas.

Time to celebrate Easter here in Norway. I will be doing that by working loads, and eating loads of marzipan! And maybe I'll find some time to create too ;)

Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs & Kisses

Becky Revisited

Hi everyone, Becky here today with my redone card. I started blogging just over 2 years ago, but for the first year I didn't really post that much. It took me a loooong time to get the confidence to put my cards out there. You will have probably noticed that I am quite partial to Tilda, so I thought I would redo my first blogged Tilda card. It's from a post on 10th May 2011, and I followed a sketch, so I thought it would be fun to follow the same sketch again.

Here's my redone one,

This is my original (my photo and editing skills have improved a tad too).

I started off colouring with copics, but I now colour with DI, but I've always loved my embellies. I took artistic license though, I missed the sentiment of my redone card ;)

I had to use a Gingham paper again, I just think it is perfect for this Tilda, this paper is from Maja Design, the edges have been distressed and then machine sewn.

I've popped a tag behind the doilie, I love this way of adding a bow to a card. As always there is links to all of the goodies at the end of the post.

Come back tomorrow when we revisit one of Elin's creations.

Hugs,

Becky xx

6 years later...

Good Morning Everyone,
It's Sandy here to show you Tina's now and then card. :-)

The reason I chose this theme or challenge, is that I wanted to highlight the differences between a card made years ago and what's being created today. For sure; there are many more gorgeous products to use these days, but this theme also illustrates the progress of the LLC DT Members.
They did not become as talented as they are today just over night; there's a lot of blood, sweat and tears behind it. Well; I'm not so sure about blood, but you do get my point. :-)

As Tracy said yesterday; it's all about practice!!!

Before moving on to Tina's card, I thought I'd let you know that my Maja Design order was delivered yesterday, so the 12x12 Vintage Spring Basics papers and the pads are now in stock.

I also got restocks of the older collections:

Now; let's jump six years back in time to 2007, when Tina created this card:
This is one of Tina's very first attempts at creating something in vintage style.
She has come a long way since, but as she puts it herself; "I'm still learning".

...and this is what Tina's remake card looks like:

The paper is the same one Tracy used yesterday; Pion Design's Lily of the Valley 12x12 from the gorgeous Spring Collection; Fairytale of Spring (one of my favourite Pion collections).

Did you notice the embossing around the edges?
Well; several of the LLC DT Members have recently become "franatics"! LOL
They use the Stampendous Fran-táge Embossing Enamel for almost everything and keep on coming up with new things that can be embossed. :-)

Here's a close up of the flower display and the adorable Moonlight Fairy Charm:

...and here's a beautiful clay heart (yup; these can be "frantaged" as well, just ask Tracy :-)).
 One last look:
Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Please visit again tomorrow, when it's Becky's turn to take us on a trip down memory lane.

Hugs from
Tina & Sandy

Now and Then

Morning,

As usual I'm kicking off the new week and a new theme, and I think you are all going to have a laugh along the way,  but I first have to report some cruelty behind the scenes.  We all love Sandy but this week she has targeted us all to re-do a card that we made a long time ago, as far back as you can go. We have all been cringing at the thought and I was hoping I wouldn't be able to find the stamps, but I'm honest and I did, so I am here today under duress, lol.  Seriously, we still love you Sandy and thank you for making us do this, even though I am still cringing and daren't open my laptop today,  it is actually good to go back and re-create a card you made before to see how far you have come, and to all those emails that I respond to about my colouring, I always say practice, practice, practice and hopefully you will see what I am talking about today, oh god I am hiding.......

So here it is the THEN and the NOW side by side. This happens to be my very first card that I made using a coloured image and my very first colouring. It dates back to January 2009.  I think it's fair to say that I have always liked flowers but my love for embellishments has definitely grown, lol.

They have both been coloured using distress inks for a direct comparison and on the NOW card I have used PionDesign Lily of the Valley 12x12 paper and you will notice a little shabby white frantage around the edges of the image, hehe, love this stuff.  The lace at the bottom is just beautiful.

A little Angel resting on the bark heart, cute.

I have used the little present charm with the words, "for you", perfect for this card. The snowflakes were cut out with accetate and dipped into diamond dust.

A cascade of flowers consisting of KortandGodt Berries, Gardenia, Flower sprays, white poppies and Chrysanthemums all with a dusting of Gesso, hehe, not sure I've done a card without either snow tex or gesso.

Enjoy the rest of the week, I can sit back and relax now mine's out in the open and see what the rest of the girl's have re-created starting with Tina tomorrow, so be sure to check back, it will be awesome!

Hugs Tracy x

Love is in the air - again ;)

~PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE TOP PICKS FROM THE FEB CHALLENGE~

Good morning LLC friends and followers!

Finally Sunday is here and I, Louise that is, can show you what I made this week, as you probably know by now, this weeks theme is Fussy and Fancy.

Now isn't that just the perfect theme for a romantic wedding card? I thought so anyways and this one I got on order for a lovely couple soon to be husband and wife named Therese and Marcus. I didn't get any specific wants or needs however they are getting married during the easter holidays and so the woman ordering it wanted bits and pieces of yellow. Besides the yellow white is usually a big part of weddings so I choose lots of white too. I have used to of the newly stocked laces here. The one alongside the image is named "Amour", its so beautiful. And look at the broad one...mmm...better than candy me thinks! And of course one of the love hangers had to find its way to my card to.

The image is from Magnolia and is a couple of years old but it sure is timeless - sooo adorable!
Before I head off I want to show you some closeups to. However not of the inside as the person ordering it thought they want to keep that to themselves.

I hope you´ll like my make this week :)
Lots of love
